Studio Photography & Portraiture

Kristian Milas

Mastering the art of staged or studio photography offers benefits to anyone working in a visual journalism or media field. Lighting, framing, and placement all helped me produce better a-roll for video projects, like my Capstone documentary, and create with better quality in all of my other projects.

You can imagine that studio photography is the easiest way to shoot– you can make your shoot however you want. However, studio photography, especially commercial photography, demands perfection.
Shooting video or photos of people is even harder sometimes. People are not bottles of wine, so mastering portraiture, especially outside of the studio, can oftentimes be a tough peak to summit.
